About Fudge Apparel and its creator...
FUDGE APPAREL is a small business fashion brand based in Texas. Founded by graphic designer Kari, she started the brand to encourage joy, make life a little bit brighter and a lot more fun.
Kari has worked as a Graphic Designer for over 15 years, helping other companies design joyful products. She is a mom and wife. Painter and ballet dancer.
Starting at 35 as a ballet dancer, she wanted to create fun and functional apparel for herself she could wear to rehearsals that would encourage her to keep going as an adult ballet dancer. So she decided to combine the two and create Fudge Apparel.
We are designing everyday, to support individuality, creating and curating products to inspire us, be resilient and give us a little encouragement. But anyone who dances ballet knows it is difficult. A little sickle foot here and a bad turn out there, it just makes you want to yell "fudge!" You can easily get discouraged, especially as an adult dancer not keeping up with the younger ones, you will get to a point where you just want to quit. Kari loved ballet so much and did not want to quit that she decided to turn that discouraging "fudge" into a powerful one. When you dance, it is for you, for self-expression, to release those emotions, to experience joy and to prove to yourself you are stronger than you thought possible.
